A little bit about us...

At Fairfield Nursery we aim to reassure parents by providing a high standard of service that is individual, caring and as flexible as possible. Children begin to learn from the moment they are born, the every day events in their home life are just as important to the learning process as the new skills and activities they will encounter at nursery and later in full time education.

We believe that working with parents, and providing a happy, caring environment with well planned, stimulating activities, provides children with the building blocks that underpin the skills they continue to develop throughout their lives. Since 1994 our strong commitment to this ethos has helped to build our reputation at our both nurseries as a professional, yet homely and caring environment for babies and young children.

Our objective is to provide a safe, caring environment in which children can develop their physical, emotional, social, intellectual and creative skills. We encourage children to develop caring relationships with staff and peers and aim to provide an environment where children feel comfortable, safe and happy to attend. The nursery day is based around a timetable of daily events and routines which children enjoy and can quickly become familiar with.

We also offer a progressive curriculum of activities which is based on the Department of Education Early Years Foundation Stage and Every Child Matters.  Working with children and parents/carers we use a wide range of topics and themes to plan a varied selection of activities throughout the day, running alongside planned activities is a continuous free choice provision. Each day is organised into 2 curriculum based sessions (a.m and p.m) which provides children with the opportunity to choose and participate in all activities regardless of whether they have a full or part time place.

NURSERY PREMISES

Fairfield is a large Georgian House, set in an acre of land.  There is a large car park to the rear of the property for parents use whilst dropping off or collecting children.  Parents using cars or prams usually find it more convenient to use the rear entrance where there is a ramp and pram store.  For security there is a CCTV system installed with cameras placed around the building and at the rear entrance door.  For security purposes a member of staff will identify all callers on the monitor and intercom before allowing entry into the nursery.

We have two enclosed play areas to rear of the nursery, both with new for 2015 outdoor gazebos; enabling outdoor workshops throughout the year! The larger of the two areas caters for the older children and is a large enclosed `L` shaped area which has a combined safety surface and lawn area. The 2nd play area also has safety soft surfacing for babies and younger children. The play areas are completely enclosed and secure and children are under strict supervision of staff during any outdoor activity. For additional security the gates at the exit and entrance of the car park will be closed when children are playing outside.
