Early Years Free Government Funding

Early Years Education free entitlement currently provides 15 free hours a week universal funding for 38 weeks of the year (term time) for ALL children from the school term following the child’s 3rd birthday.

15-30 Hours for younger babies/children

Working parents may be able to access 15-30 hours funding for babies and children from 9 months old.  Visit the government Childcare Choices website for more information and to check your availability.  https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/

New school terms start at the beginning of January, April and September, a child must be of the required age BEFORE the start of a term to qualify.

Wrap-around provision

The nursery is open all year round Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm each day, our Wrap-around provision enables children to attend throughout the year and stretch any Early Years Funding entitlement across the full 52 weeks. This  provides parents who require a fully flexible attendance system of wrap-around care, a guaranteed place throughout the whole year.

Funded only - 'Free' sessions

We also offer a limited number of 'funded only' sessions, where parents don't purchase any additional hours and use their government funded hours in the school term weeks only (38 weeks a year).  To apply, parents must make a request as these places are subject to availability, children already attending the setting or with siblings will be given priority.

  • Free entitlement is provided by the Government and the setting does not require you to purchase additional hours unless you wish to do so.

  • Free hours can be taken at a maximum of 15/30 hours a week during the school term times OR they can be 'stretched' over a full year so that children attend for approximately 10 hours a week all year round including school holidays if this is preferred.

  • Free sessions are generally mornings 8 am to 1 pm or afternoons 12.30 to 5.30 pm or full days 7.5 hours a day.  Places are limited and although we will do our best to accommodate your needs we CANNOT guarantee that all requests will be met.

  • On funded only sessions, we usually provide  breakfast, lunch, tea and snacks - there is a small charge per session/day for working parents. Please speak to nursery management for details.

  • Children can bring their own packed meals from home if this is preferred.  We are a NUT FREE setting -  the nursery operates a healthy eating policy and respectfully request that parents support this policy when packed lunch boxes are provided from home.  Packed lunch option must be agreed with the management and a copy of our policy will be supplied.

For parents who only require occasional hours and/or holiday care, please speak to the Manager.
